Heavy Attack Launched in Tonj South County, Manyangok Payam Under Siege

A violent attack erupted early this morning in Manyangok Payam, Tonj South County, after an alleged coordinated offensive by neighboring communities — Apuk, Yar, and Muok. The assault, which began in the early hours, has resulted in the village of Manyit being burned to ashes, with fires continuing to spread to nearby villages.
According to reports from Tonj Leads Media, Sultan Makeer Chinyuch, a traditional leader of the Thony community, confirmed the outbreak of fighting. He stated that the attack was launched without warning, and as of now, the root cause of the violence remains unknown.
“There is heavy fighting going on, and we are still trying to understand what triggered this aggression,” Sultan Chinyuch told Tonj Leads Media.
